It has been over 3 years since I sold my majority ownership at OPSkins.com. Today, the company owners have officially announced to all of their employees that they are shutting down for good.

Oh boy, oh boy! What an incredible journey did this company have since its initial conception by John and I. Over 5 years ago, we co-founded the site thinking that we might get a few bucks and protect the community against charge-backs/scammers. What we did not know at that point is that we would not only make a few bucks, but we will change the skins industry forever.

This post is entirely based on my personal experience running the company, and everything reflected in here is purely based on my own opinions. It is important to know that I had NO involvement with the site since I exited.

I had a couple of great memories running the business. From its initial release to my exit. I am so proud of what we have accomplished over the years. No body understood what we were trying to do at the beginning. I remember so many VCs and Angel investors laughed at us when we pitched the idea. They were not laughing after few months in. Missed the boat fellas!

One of my favorite memories at OPSkins was the ESWC CS:GO Finals held in Montréal, QC, Canada (where OPSkins was incorporated). We sponsored the event and the after-party. This event allowed us to get closer to the competitive scene, and I personally made some amazing friends who were playing as Professional players.

There were many others of course, but this one was very special to us. I could go on and on about all the stories we had over the years, but this post will take forever to write.

I guess I really just wanted to thank this amazing company for changing not only my life, but people’s live all around the World. I will never forget all the dedicated staff members that we had at that time, working hard and being part of our growing family.

We were indeed a Family. Only close friends of friends would join our staff and I had such a great time with all of them during our company retreats. We had the opportunity to visit great places and bond over amazing dinners and team building activities. Thank you so much for being part of the journey! You guys made it happen!

Today we say Good Bye to OPSkins. Thank you for everything you have done, and I will personally cherish those great memories and you definitely made me a stronger person and a much better Entrepreneur.
